MSG, 1983:
First ST. STEPHEN in 5 years...fifth row center...roar from the crowd felt literally like a wave rolling from back of the room to front...."In and out of the garden he goes" line drowned out by crowd delerium...

Hampton, VA., 1986: First BOX OF RAIN in 14 years to end set one. 'Heads 3 rows deep at the pay phones soon as it ended calling folks, yelling Box of Rain! and hanging up...

Hampton again, 1988, or maybe 87, I forget: First BALLAD OF A THIN MAN...Dylan fans like myself all in a tizzy....

Nassau Coliseum, 1990: Who's that guy with the sax? That's not...it is! That's Branford Marsalis jamming on EYES!!!

Nassau 1/11/79: My first show. First Sugaree, Jack Straw, etc. etc. for me...On the bus for good, singing Thank You! For a real good time!

I caught a few bust-outs in the Washington DC area:
- first Reuben & Cherise, 3/17/91
- first Casey Jones since 1984, 6/20/92
- first Black Muddy River in nearly 4 years, 6/24/95 (maybe not a big deal to most, but this was the song that took me from casually interested in the music, to being a bona-fide Deadhead)
...and there is the breakout that maybe shouldn't have happened:
- first Rolling and Tumbling, Highgate 6/15/95 (aka "Fumbling and Mumbling")
...plus the not-quite-Dead breakout that was extra-special:
- one of only two known live versions of Freight Train played by Garcia, and the first in 11 years, 11/3/93 Albany
